Most breweries start by opening a tap room. We decided to start with the beer garden.
And not just any beer garden:

Relax and sip micro brews of every color, from rich stouts and hoppy IPAs to crisp cream ales and refreshing lagers.
Enjoy carefully curated background music, crackling camp fires, live bands and other special events, yard games, and hearty meals from the best local food trucks.
Always family and leashed-pet friendly. Rain or shine. Shelter is limited, so dress for the weather.

The Big Rail Stage in the woods is built like a tank! We’re looking forward to showcasing even more great music, from regional favorites to national acts and mini-festivals.
When It Rains, We Pour.
We keep the beer garden open year round, rain or shine. And with the new taproom, we’ve got shelter from the storm. But it’s Pennsylvania… and around here, it’s best to embrace the seasons. The colder it gets, the bigger the campfires get.
If there’s severe weather or high wind, we may close the beer garden for our customers’ safety… check this page or on social media for last minute updates.

Big Rail is a nickname for 155-pound and 152-pound rail — made incredibly strong to handle the immense weight of ore and coal carried through Pennsylvania’s old-growth forests, across her mighty rivers, and over her foreboding mountains. Likewise, Big Rail Brewing was forged in the wilds of Pennsylvania, and we brew our beer to honor all of the unseen blue collar tradespeople who hold up the immense weight of modern civilization.

Big Rail Brewing is a 100% independently-owned craft brewery. (What does that mean?)
What’s more, we’re not just the owners… we’re also the founders, brewers and operators.
As natives of western Pennsylvania, we decided long ago that we wouldn’t build our brewery anywhere else.
