EASE plays a diverse and eclectic brand of Americana music. With songs ranging from traditional folk songs to sophisticated blues songs of the 20’s and 30’s; from Bob Wills to Hot Tuna; from polkas to the Grateful Dead; from bluegrass to the Devil Makes Three; from country classics to the outlaw country favorites; and many spaces in between, you are never sure what you will hear.
The one constant, though, is an emphasis on musicianship, a sense of humor, a looseness, and love of playing a wide range of American music that is enjoyable to listen to as well as to play.
Listening to EASE reminds you of sitting on the back porch, the living room, or around the fire and hearing your friends play good time music. This is American String Band music for the 21st century.

Event Details
King Margo is Lucciana Costa and Rachel Coats, who grew up 40 minutes apart but didn’t meet until many years later in the middle of a Kentucky field.
Lucciana grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, discovering the slide guitar at 12 years old, which led to her playing in several local bands throughout her teens. Rachel, from Toledo, Ohio, also cut her teeth on the local gig scene with her musically inclined family. An upright bass player since middle school, Rachel continued on to play in several orchestras and earned a Music Education degree from Bowling Green State University.

Both women spent their twenties building a steady rotation of live shows, studio work and a gun-for-hire reputation as multi-instrumentalists. Rachel was selected to join several international touring artists in the folk-pop realm on bass and vocals. Lucciana focused on songwriting and composition, spending half a decade in Los Angeles honing her craft and scoring films and commercials. Eventually Lucciana and Rachel found themselves in Nashville, both hired for the same touring band where they met for the first time. They connected instantly, both musically and personally, and the seeds for what would eventually become King Margo were planted.
King Margo hit the road almost immediately, thanks to the girls’ love of travel and their inclination to book shows across the country to hang out with friends and family (and to fund out-of-budget snowboarding trips). Scrappy gigs and long hours in a van helped solidify the humor and tone of their first album, Barely Gettin By, which was self-recorded and successfully crowdfunded by fans they’d picked up along their travels. Their first album was pure fun, capturing the sarcasm and liveliness honed by playing in rowdy bars deep into the night.
For 2022’s release Waters Rise, King Margo offers a more evolved sound. The songs are more personal. The arrangements are more intricate, featuring soaring harmonies that have captured listeners across the country. “She never boarded up the windows/Grandma likes to say/She rode out every storm/Frying chicken just the same,” opens the song “Monsters,” inspired by a conversation overheard in a New Orleans coffee shop. The girls pay homage to their upbeat roots with the barnburner tune “Floodlights and Sequins” which they say is about “looking hot and committing crime.” There are songs of the mundane nature of real love, rich people going to space, and partying during the apocalypse. Produced by Gabe Lee, David Dorn and Alex Torrez, Waters Rise was released through Torrez Music Group in September of 2022.
King Margo is ready for a beer in your town. If they’re not making music, they are out rock climbing or snowboarding. They are disciples of living the good life, taking care of your people and being nicer to the planet. They want to see you somewhere out there soon.

Event Details
Dan Bubien & the Delta Struts put a contemporary spin on soulful roots music. Driven by the dynamic guitar playing duo of Shawn Mazzei and Dan Bubien, along with Bubien’s soulful gritty vocals. Their signature sound is highlighted by the precision playing and deep toned-full sound of drummer Mark Pollera and glued together by Christian Caputo’s steady, groove oriented bass playing. They are set to release their first studio album together as a band in early spring of 2019 and Dan’s 3rd album in the past 5 years.
Dan Bubien is a singer/songwriter/guitarist born and raised in the small steel town of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. This rust belt town Northwest of Pittsburgh, has been the launching pad for a career that spans over two decades now culminating with his current band The Delta Struts.
Dan’s professional career began in his mid-teens working along side veteran musicians on the local and regional club circuit of Southwest PA. Along the way, Dan founded and recorded with The Sun Kings releasing Rub It In (2006) while continuing to hone his skills as a front man and songwriter. As a solo artist, Dan released “Empty Roads” in 2013 with the help of four-time Grammy Award Winning Producer/Engineer Jay Dudt of Audible Images Studios. Capitalizing on his previous success with “Empty Roads”, Dan released his second solo album in August of 2016 entitled “Grinding These Gears”. Self-produced and recorded by legendary Pittsburgh musician Joe Munroe “Grinding These Gears” achieved critical acclaim and charted on the Blues/Rock and World Wide blues album charts respectively.
Fast forward to 2017 and the newest incarnation of Dan’s vision has culminated in the creation of Dan Bubien and The Delta Struts. Gritty and honest, yet always soulful one might think this band hails from a place much further south than the suburbs of northwest Pittsburgh. Dan is constantly refining and redefining his craft using a wide palette of tones and textures, sounds and styles, that express a heart-felt love of all things music. Rooted in soul, and versed in a style that harkens back to the days of a classic STAX recording, Dan Bubien and The Delta Struts consistently break new ground with an eclectic spin on the collective music they make. Backed by the stellar guitar playing of Shawn Mazzei and anchored by rhythm section veterans Mark Pollera (Drums) and Christian Caputo (Bass) The Delta Struts chart a course that begins and ends with the music always being the first priority. After spending much of 2018 recording what was to become “Thieves and Yesterdays” Dan Bubien and The Delta Struts plan on a release date of February 1st and a tour starting in Nashville at the end of March. Check our website for up to date information and reviews about “Thieves and Yesterday’s” as well as updates from the road beginning in March.

The early 2010s brought Travis’ first released demo, which then led to tours throughout the Midwest and of rural Pennsylvania. From an early age, when he first picked up a guitar, he captured disconnect from the orthodox childhood and let angst sink its teeth in. Through house shows and venue halls, he chased the ache of consternation and the feeling of any form of self-identity that slipped away from him. In these multitudinous avenues and years of honing his craft, Travis met a list of musicians, whom which he has since collaborated with on stage and in the studio, and continued to study his playing, writing style, and better understand his influences.

Ben Gage is an americana musician from Akron, OH. Ben Gage grew up in the rust belt of Northeast Ohio, spread out in the countryside along the great Lake Erie. His roots run deep alongside the hard working blue collars that Ohio has to boast. That tenacity, love of family, and respect for a long day can be seen in his music.
Songs have always been a way to tell a story for Ben. The best story sets aside the complexities and focuses on honesty. You will find yourself feeling as though you’ve heard his songs before even if it’s your first time.
To him music has always been a social endeavor. When not playing solo he has The Ben Gage Band, including Dan Socha (Guitar), Brendan O’Malley (Mandolin), Brant Novack (Upright Bass) and Spencer Cindia (Drums).

The Dirty Grass Players, a four-piece new-grass band from Baltimore, is known for having one toe-tappin’ foot in traditional bluegrass while pushing boundaries with their blazing musicianship. Composed of Connor Murray on bass, Alex Berman on vocals & banjo, Ben Kolakowski with the guitar & vocals, and Ryan Rogers on mandolin, this group has been giving their growing fan-base a down and dirty performance for over five years.
Their ability to seamlessly transition from down-home bluegrass to spirited improvisation makes each performance unique. Mix in some Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd or a dash of southern rock and you’ll quickly understand what they mean by “Dirty Grass”.
Entering into their sixth year together, The Dirty Grass Players released their 2nd studio album, “Beneath the Woodpile”. Put together with alluring harmonies, lyrics, and melodies, the band presents a sound precisely at the crossroads of traditional and progressive bluegrass. This isn’t just another run-of-the-mill bluegrass album or band; it’s cathartic and dirty grass.

We’re an indie folk duo hailing from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. As full time musicians, we perform at a wide variety of special events and locations across Pennsylvania and surrounding states (but we’re always up for traveling further)!
So why did we choose the name, ‘The Evergreens?’ While we do love Christmas and the smell of cedar, we call ourselves The Evergreens because of the songs we play. We cover hits that have stood the test of time and have never “gone out of season” – much like evergreen trees. We put our own indie/folk twist on hits ranging from the 1950’s-1990’s (with a few modern songs in the mix). This allows us to connect with all people in an audience – young and old. (Example: We’ve rocked the stage at both a 100-year-old and a 3-year-old’s birthday party!)

Bindley Hardware Co. is a rust-belt Americana band from Pittsburgh, PA. They draw influence from classic country, folk and modern alt-country, as well as from the original Bindley Hardware Co., its namesake hardware store owned and operated by frontman Jon’s family during Pittsburgh’s industrial boom in the early 20th century. “To be able to make music or have any kind of creative endeavor that identifies where you’re from is really important. […] Things in Pittsburgh inspire me every day. The Bindley Hardware Co. has such a rich history and I’m kind of making it my own.”

Welcome to the music of Well Strung!!! We are a four-piece bluegrass band out of the Western PA region and have been playing traditional and progressive bluegrass music since June of 2004. The members of this band come from diverse backgrounds which allows them to create and cover music from different genres-all in a bluegrass style. Check the CD Tab for recordings of our music! We enjoy playing to our audience and we never fail to get them involved in our shows-it is not unusual to see the floor bouncing with dancers!

The Plate Scrapers originated in 2014 in western Maryland the way any good bluegrass band does: from a bunch of fellers pickin’ around in a circle, surrounded by delicious plates of food, strong libations, and good friends. The traditional spirit of The Plate Scrapers is still innately intact nearly half a decade later, though they have evolved into far more than your average bluegrass band. Through diverse backgrounds and influences ranging from jazz, to hard rock, to funk, the band has taken their music to an eclectic new level.

Originally conceived as a reference to Pat’s default state-of-being between April and September — as in, “We haven’t even started the show yet and Pat’s sweaty already!” — the Sweaty Already String Band hits the stage with a blend of traditional and modern bluegrass, along with some unexpected covers and original tunes steeped in the tradition of the Appalachian region where we all grew up.
We’ve been fortunate in recent years to share the stage with wonderful musicians like Fireside Collective, the Dirty Grass Players and the Steep Canyon Rangers.
And one of the best things about the local bluegrass community is how many pals we have with the talent to jump in and pick for an evening. We’ve been lucky enough to have Danny Rectenwald from the Bastard Bearded Irishmen rollin’ with us, along with regional friends like DeAnna Efaw, Megan Williams, Fiddlin’ Ray Bruckman, Jason Ericsson and more!

(Example: We’ve rocked the stage at both a 100-year-old and a 3-year-old’s birthday party!)

theCAUSE is a band consisting of 5 Pittsburgh musicians who have all been around the proverbial block. Playing tunes from Grateful Dead, Phish, The Beatles, Bob Dylan and MORE, including some very tasty originals, theCAUSE packs a punch while still paying close attention to the delicate touch. The players are Eric “Pappy” Weingrad on guitar and vocals (Double Dose, Pappy’s Blues Junction), David Tauberg on bass and vocals (Powers Run Band, Hard to Handle, Cherylann Hawk), Mike South on drums (Left for Dead, Sticky, Russ Lauf Band) and, joining us in 2008, Pittsburgh blues veteran Jill Paone Simmons brings a whole new dimension to theCAUSE on vocals and continues to rock with us today. Jill also fronts the all female Dead band Brown Eyed Women . Kip Lieber on keyboards, who also performs with Fungus.
